Jahmir Young tabbed NABC All-District First Team selection

For the second consecutive season, former Maryland guard Jahmir Young has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 7 First Team. The honor marks the third postseason award for Young, who was named All-Big Ten first team by the media along with being named Maryland's Sportsmanship Award honoree. Young was the lone bright spot for the Terps through the 2023-24 season with his 20.4 points per game average tied for the eleventh-most in a single season in program history, while his 18-point per game average over the last two seasons is fifth-best all-time. Jahmir Young's career-high came on the road back in December when his 37-point performance guided the Terps to a win over UCLA, only to follow it up with 36 points in a close road loss at Northwestern. Young also ended his career at Maryland tied with Eric Hayes for all-time free throw percentage (87%), while he became the fifth player in program history to eclipse 1,000 points in two seasons. Head coach Kevin Willard has turned to the portal to find a replacement with former Virginia Tech guard Rodney Rice meeting with the staff on Wednesday, while former Belmont guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie will head to College Park for a visit on Friday.
