In-state '26 OL Greg Maddox set to visit Maryland after dead period

2026 Dundalk (MD) offensive lineman Greg Maddox was only able to venture out to Penn State in June for a camp, and while Boston College is working to get him up to campus, he only has one visit set after the dead period as he will head to College Park for an unofficial visit on July 27. Michigan State became the first school to pull the trigger on the 6-foot-4, 285-pound prospect during a visit after his freshman season, but the Terps would be the next school to jump in as offensive line coach Brian Braswell has paved the way on early efforts. “I’ve been talking to coach Braswell a lot recently, having conversations just about every week, getting to know him really well. He’s been getting to know me, asking how things are going throughout the week and talking about football but he’s been really getting to know me more on a personal level. I’m looking forward to seeing and talking with coach Locksley more, too.” While Maddox is receptive to the possibility of staying local in college, the early priority target has taken note of the growing list of regional targets who have pulled the trigger on the Terps through the 2025 cycle. “I do like what they’re building right now. They’ve got a lot of commits to stay home and I like how they’re trying to build something new, keep everyone from Maryland at home to stay for the hometown university. It’s one of my top schools.” Maddox added that the Nittany Lions join the Terps among his early consistent suitors with position coach Phil Trautwein building the relationship. “It’s been a lot easier to get on the phone with them any time, start getting to know them and really building a connection with them. A lot of schools have been showing me love. I’ve just been keeping in contact, checking in on each other but it’s been really good.” Maddox lined up as Dundalk’s starting left tackle and was named first-team all-region as a sophomore, drawing offers from Virginia Tech, Boston College, Michigan State, Pitt and Charlotte among others heading into his junior season.
