Spalding (MD) composite four-star quarterback Malik Washington wrapped up his Elite 11 appearance where the 6-foot-4 prospect cemented himself among the nation’s best at his position.
Washington made the trip west to Los Angeles on Monday where he was named the ninth-best quarterback after day one and the seventh-best quarterback after day two, completing 14-of-20 passes during his Elite 11 Night 2 Pro Day. Washington followed it up with another strong day, completing over half his passes in the 7-on-7 portion as On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power broke down the balanced quarterback.

“On the other end, a good showing from Malik Washington, throwing several touchdowns. His best throw was on a seam ball over the middle. Good zip and showed the ability to stick it in a tight window. He finishes 13/24 on target with four touchdown passes,” he wrote.
Washington became the first quarterback out of the DMV to be invited to the Elite 11 Finals since Caleb Williams in 2020, who went on to become the number one pick in April’s NFL Draft. Maryland did have one-time verbal commit AJ Swann compete in the event, but Maryland will have a chance to add their Elite 11 quarterback to their 2025 class as the top target heads to College Park this upcoming weekend.
“I’m excited. I know everybody has been waiting for their official visits since like freshman year. It feels good to finally get to that time, soak it in and enjoy it as much as I can,” Washington told IBG ahead of his first June official visit.
Led by coordinators Brian Williams and Josh Gattis with head coach Mike Locksley active in his recruitment, the Terps have been in the top group since the start of Malik Washington’s recruitment where they’ve been able to establish a clear sense of comfort and potential impact in Maryland’s offense.
“They have a really good message for me. Why I don’t have to go anywhere else to be good. You can stay home and be great, stuff like that. They’re also building something too. Three bowl games in a row, winning seasons, they’re on the right path,” Washington told IBG in the spring.
Maryland enters the weekend with a loaded crew of official visitors expected on campus, while Washington will also be joined by star wrestler and emerging defensive line target Delmar White, who’s been high on Brian Williams’ local list through the spring.
Malik Washington is rated a composite four-star prospect, while On3 currently ranks him a three-star and an 88 overall along with the 32nd-best quarterback in the country.
