Hamond twins ready for official visit to Maryland in June

Calvert Hall (MD) has multiple Power Four prospects headlining their 2025 cycle with defensive back Byron Baldwin already committed to Indiana. The Cardinals could see that change in the coming weeks with three-star tight end JT Taggart set to kick off his visits with a trip to Maryland the weekend of June 7, while twin brothers Alijah Hamond and Asaiah-Allan Hamond take their official the weekend of June 14. The Hamond brothers were long on the radar before picking up the offer during a spring visit back on April 2 as offensive line coach Brian Braswell leads the way with both. At 6-foot-7, 270-pound prospect, Alijah projects as a defensive lineman at the next level while Alijah, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound athlete, is being recruited as a free safety. “Long wingspan, active. Trying to be an athlete this year but I’m working my way to the defensive side of the ball,” Alijah Hamond told IBG. Maryland is the lone official visit set heading into the end of May, meanwhile Charlotte is also in the mix for a visit and South Carolina has been tracking both. While Maryland is a school that the duo are plenty familiar with given they grew up just 40 minutes from campus, their most recent visit last month gave them a chance to build their relationships with the staff. “I like the coaching staff, love it up there and taking their time to show me around and what the next level is like. I really liked it.” And while Braswell looks to lead the way on a pair of potential in-state commits, reuniting with Bel Air (MD) safety and current commit Julien Horton during their official visit is another aspect the duo is looking ahead to. “I feel really excited, seeing some of my homeboys and friends going on that same visit that same day. They talk to me about Maryland all the time so it’s exciting to see what we’re talking about, trying to get it going.” There’s also little doubt about where the duo will look to play at the next level. “We’re playing at the same school, of course.” Maryland is the only school to offer both prospects. Neither Alijah nor Asaiah are rated by On3. Related Links
