Maryland wrapped up its first week of spring practice with a handful of visitors from North Carolina and New Jersey on campus on Saturday, but a local priority target also made his way back to College Park. Good Counsel (MD) three-star wide receiver Elijah Moore has been to Maryland plenty of times in the past, becoming a frequent visitor for home games over the last two years while the 6-foot-4 receiver unofficially visited just two weeks ago. But Saturday’s visit marked the first time he got a chance to watch Maryland practice. “I was in the meeting with coach Brewer before practice started so I got to see some of the players and stuff,” Moore told IBG. “They gave me a play sheet during practice so I was on the field just looking at some of the plays, talking to some of the players, talking to Kaden , Tai , coach Locksley. I got to meet the new running backs coach, it was good. They were competing, they were hitting today too.” Moore also got a chance to meet three NFL receivers with Jaylen Waddle and Devonta Smith on campus while Jerry Jeudy caught the tailend of practice, but the different perspective gives Moore a complete view of the program. “I think that was my first practice so that definitely gave me a clean feel. I have a good feeling about Maryland all the way through. I’ve been to all the stuff multiple times. Going to the practice is big for me because the competitiveness makes me want to practice hard and I got to see that in practice. Coach was making the receivers better, especially as far as the recruiting process is going, I’m trying to make sure that I stay close with the wide receivers coach more than any of the other coaches.” With Brewer teaming up with outside linebacker coach James Thomas as the position and area recruiter, Moore admits he’s enjoyed a comfortable relationship with both. “I talk to them about the same. Coach Brew will give me a call or sometimes will tell me to call him, so I’ll call him in the morning or before I go to school real early because he’s up early. I talk to more but I talk to coach Brew longer because we talk more receiver work and we have more to talk about. I want to be with a good receiver coach and coach Brew does good with his receivers, he’s a big receivers guy,” Moore added. The three-star target plans to unofficially visit Florida and Florida State next weekend, but he’ll be back in College Park in June for an official visit. “I’m planning to do my official one of those last two weeks in June. They’ve got me for the last week but I’m trying to get it to the second-to-last week, June 23,” Moore added. “I’m trying to finish these last couple of visits then I’m trying to set up the rest as soon as possible so I just go into June ready to go.” Moore is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall and the 24th-best prospect in Maryland.
