After wrapping up an undefeated season, IMG Academy (FL) four-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng took advantage of being back home to make the short trip to College Park where he and his brother were able to reconnect with the coaching staff on Sunday. “It was like a nice, cool visit. I got to sit down and talk to coach Lance for a bit then start touring around the school and facilities,” Owusu-Boateng told IBG. This visit marked the third visit to campus for the top-150 prospect given he began his high school career at DeMatha (MD), but after not being able to make it to campus for a game this fall, sitting down with the coaching staff is what resonated during his latest stop on campus. “Me coming down here was a good experience just for me to see what Maryland can offer, so it was good to see everything, just sit down and talk with them.” Florida, Clemson and Miami (FL) were among the schools that the 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker was able to visit for games earlier this fall while Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and USC are among the 30-plus schools to jump into the mix early. Boateng doesn’t have any other visits set up before he returns to IMG next month, but it’s clear to him why the hometown school remains in the picture early on. “Right now Maryland is kind of going up so it’s like why not enjoy something like that? Why not join a program that’s right in your backyard. Me going to school in Maryland before I left to go to Maryland, it’s like why not come back and bring guys back with me to start something great?” Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng is rated a four-star prospect and a 91 overall by On3, sitting as the 148th-best prospect nationally and 19th-best linebacker.
