Four-star edge rusher Jaylen Harvey includes Maryland in top three

Maryland sits at 18 commitments heading into the weekend, but they made the cut for one of their top remaining targets on Friday afternoon as Quince Orchard (MD) four-star Jaylen Harvey trimmed his top group of schools once again. Harvey, a 6-foot-2, 250-pound edge rusher, released a final three with Maryland, Penn State and USC still in the mix. Harvey eliminated Tennessee and Florida from his original top list of schools as he bunkers down into decision mode, a decision that could still come prior to the start of his senior season. Harvey kicked off the month of June with an official visit to Penn State where the Nittany Lions rolled out the red carpet in hopes of a commitment.  His camp, however, opted for the more patient route which then led Harvey to Gainesville where Florida hosted the four-star and his family for an official visit the weekend of June 9. USC has made themselves a factor in the DMV over the last year and have support from family as they hosted Harvey for an official the weekend of June 16. Help Maryland football's NIL efforts and donate here Maryland was the last school to host Harvey for an official visit the weekend of June 23 then again for an unofficial following the July dead period as, led by outside linebackers coach James Thomas, the in-state school remains in the picture. The star Quince Orchard edge rusher saw his recruitment begin during his sophomore season before solidifying himself among the area’s best prospects during a junior season that ended in a state championship. Harvey will lead Quince Orchard into the fall with Penn State verbal Xavier Gilliam in the trenches along with 2025 four-star Iverson Howard looking to entrench himself as one of the most elusive athletes in the DMV. Jaylen Harvey is rated a composite four-star prospect but was dropped to a high three-star and an 89 overall by On3, now sitting as the tenth-best prospect in Maryland. Related Links
