Former Maryland guard Melo Trimble wrapped up a stellar postseason after being named MVP of the VTB League Finals in Russia, leading CSKA Moscow to a title after pulling off a 4-1 series win vs. UNICS. Despite having ten points in game five, Trimble was a force throughout the playoffs after averaging 14.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals in 13 games. He wraps up his lone season with the team averaging 14.6 points, 1.3 steals and 4.1 assists this season, while shooting over 52% inside the arc and over 32% from three. Trimble was also recognized as the Sixth Man of the Year during the regular season and participated in the All-Star Game, ending a productive year one with the club. Whether Trimble will return to the club remains to be seen after signing a deal through the 2023-24 season. After going undrafted and spending the 2017-18 season with the Iowa Wolves in the NBA G League, Trimble went on to play in Australia, Puerto Rico, Spain, Turkey and China before joining CSKA Moscow. Trimble was previously named All-Spanish League Second Team while playing for Fuenlabrada (Spain), along with being named an All-NBL Second Team selection while with the Cairns Taipans in 2019. Trimble is among the long list of former Terps playing abroad, joining Eric Ayala (Puerto Rico), James Gist (Argentina), Charles Mitchell (Argentina), Dez Wells (Israel) and Damonte Dodd (China) among others. As a Terp, Trimble was a two-time AP All-American honorable mention selection while being named to the All-Big Ten team in all three years with the program. The former Bishop O'Connell star became the 14th player in program history to eclipse the 1,600 career point mark and still sits top-20 in multiple categories in program history, including 14th in career points between Ernest Graham and Walt Williams.
