Krop (FL) defensive back Kal-El Pascal made his first trip up to Maryland this weekend where the 6-foot, 185-pound target got an in-depth look at the program after watching the Terps’ second scrimmage during spring ball. “Practice was good. Their defense was hitting a lot. They were very aggressive and I liked that about them. They have some playmakers so that was smooth about it, but most importantly the defense dominated for real,” Pascal told IBG. “Everything was smooth.” While the Florida safety took note of Maryland’s “two cornerbacks that’re going to be drafted,” he kept an eye on the current defensive backs as one transfer caught his eye. “They have a cornerback now that wears number three now …he was really putting in work. I used to watch some of his clips. They put in a lot of work .” He then got a chance to sit down with his area and position recruiter with the Terps sitting high on his board. “I did sit down with Brian Williams and I talked to him. I sat down with the safeties coach and talked to him. The safeties coach really liked me because I can move around the field and play defensive back. Safety, corner, nickel, strong safety. I can play all five.” Maryland joins Georgia Tech and Pitt among the early offers while Miami has shown strong interest to-date. “I’ve been to Miami three of four times,” Pascal added. He’ll head to another local ACC school next month to check out Florida State, but with a top group set to come out next month, the Terps are in line to get a return visit. “I’m definitely interested. I’m planning on dropping my top five or six by the end of spring football. They’ll most definitely be up there.” Kal-El Pascal posted three interceptions before being named second team All-Dade as a junior. Kal-El Pascal is not yet rated by On3. Related Links
