Archbishop Carroll (DC) five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor went down midway through the final defensive series of Friday night’s battle against McDonogh, but returned on the final play of the game to help seal a 14-7. After beating Jackson-Reed 79-0 last week, Carroll is back above .500 and that’s not something Harbor takes lightly.
“We just had to push through adversity, through all the hate and just fight. The heart the passion that we work with, we’re all going to keep pushing,” he told Inside the Black and Gold. Harbor flashed on both sides of the ball, despite drawing just a handful of targets through the air.
The next morning, Harbor and his parents took a 6 AM flight for the second official visit to Michigan. It’s the first time that Harbor has checked out Ann Arbor for the first time in one year, but the game he came for featured two top contenders. Michigan pulled away with a 34-27 over Maryland on national TV but the postgame commentary has pointed to Maryland impressing with a battle.
“Excited to see how the game goes, just glad to get back up there,” Harbor added ahead of his visit. He’ll wrap up his Michigan official on Monday morning, but his first official visit the weekend prior to South Carolina left an impression despite a 48-7 loss to Georgia.
“It was a great visit. They rolled out the red carpet. I got to see everything, the vibe of everybody and see what it’s like so we’ll see if I commit there. I spent time with everybody. I was going back and forth with the offense and defense.”
There’s still a likely possibility that LSU will officially host Harbor this fall, but the date remains subject to change with Harbor’s game that weekend causing uncertainty.
“We might have to reschedule LSU but I’ll still get out there.” Harbor has a good idea of who will get his fourth and fifth official visit.
“Miami, definitely Maryland and if I use those two that’ll be it.” Could Maryland be the last official visit?
“I’ll probably get first or second weekend .”
Harbor is rated a five-star prospect and a 98 overall by On3, sitting as the 13th-best prospect in the country.Related Links Unit Grades: Analyzing Maryland vs. Michigan No moral victories in Maryland’s loss at Michigan Watch: Locksley, players recap loss to Michigan Instant Reactions: Michigan 34, Maryland 27
