Maryland inked one playmaker out of Jones (FL) in the 2023 cycle when Dylan Wade signed as a tight end, but the staff officially jumped into the mix for a new target in the 2024 class over the weekend when four-star defensive lineman D’antre Robinson added a Big Ten offer.

The 6-foot-1, 295-pound lineman is already familiar with Maryland with the staff making themselves a familiar face over the last year and Robinson sees the benefits of that. “They’ve seen me a few times already. I’ve been talking with them and built a connection with them, but they just officially offered me the same day I went to ,” he told IBG. “It was very exciting knowing I got that offer. I’ve always wanted to go to Baltimore so I’ll probably take a visit.”

Outside linebacker coach James Thomas is leading the charge and sees a genuine relationship in the early stages. “They’re pretty good people. They’re going to tell you the real and they’re going to make sure you’re straight. They talk to you every day.” Having Wade in Robinson’s early ones helps. “Basically he said Maryland pretty lit and they’ll be pretty good this year.”

Robinson will look to visit Maryland potentially in the spring, but for now he’ll check out another school with a trip to Texas this upcoming weekend. The four-star prospect will also look to visit both Colorado and Georgia and is staying patient with a top school list.
