Maryland football closes out spring ball this Saturday with the final practice open to the media on Tuesday afternoon. While a large contingency of local targets won't be in attendance due to the upcoming OT7 camp, several out-of-state targets will make their way to campus headlined by a handful of priority targets. Evans (FL) four-star safety Brandon Jacob, Wekiva (FL) three-star defensive lineman Sincere Edwards and Highland Springs (VA) three-star quarterback Khristian Martin headline the early slate of visitors. With Miami and Texas A&M in pursuit, no school has recruited Jacob harder than Maryland in his recruitment as the four-star target will make his way back for his fifth visit to Maryland. Outside linebacker coach James Thomas has done well with the top Florida target and it helps that the staff has close ties to his school and camp to battle the heavy hitters. Edwards, a longtime UCF commit, has kept the door wide open in his recruitment and this weekend marks the second time he’ll be on campus with defensive coordinator Brian Williams leading the charge. Martin, meanwhile, will make his second trip to campus after taking the Terps’ first practice of spring ball. Jacob will also make the trip in with Spruce Creek (FL) three-star athlete E’zaiah Shine, who was standing by Jacob’s side when he picked up the Maryland offer earlier this month. Both were in town for a 7-on-7 as they were able to briefly reconnect with the staff. Shine is coming off an unofficial visit to UCF but Maryland is well-positioned in his recruitment. La Salle (RI) three-star safety Justin Denson has watched his recruitment gradually grow but with safeties coach Zach Spavital in pursuit, the 6-foot-2 safety will make his way to campus as the Terps are expected to join the mix. Timber Creek (NJ) three-star defensive end Brahim Wynn will make his way down to campus for the second time, first unofficially visiting campus on Friday before returning for Saturday’s spring game with his dad. Cornerbacks coach Henry Baker has kept in steady contact as the staff evaluates the outside linebacker target. Baker has also done well with Flowers (MD) cornerback Lloyd Irvin, who will officially visit campus in June. While Maryland has consistently struggled to pluck the top talent out of the PG County program, Maryland sending a pair of corners to the NFL helps their chances as he’s likely to stick around the area contingent on offers from Michigan State and Wisconsin. Loyola Blakefield (MD) interior lineman Trevor Szymanski will return to campus with the family, including 2023 signee AJ Szymanski. With the 6-foot-4 lineman still drawing mainly a regional offer list, the interior lineman is still expected to land in College Park as long as he has the green light. While his teammate heads to Virginia Tech, DeMatha (MD) three-star offensive tackle Terez Davis is back in College Park with offensive line coach Brian Braswell keeping in steady contact with the towering tackle target. Davis, a former tight end and defensive line, will return to the defensive side of the ball for his senior season but has spent much of the offseason working along the offensive line where the Terps, among others, view him as an offensive tackle target.Oakdale (MD) three-star athlete Evan Austin has had the Terps atop his leader board dating back to last summer and he’ll head to campus this weekend along with a return visit in June. Phoebus (VA) three-star edge Anthony Reddick, who committed to Maryland last month, will also return to campus. Related Links
