Offensive tackle Liridon Mujezinovic has announced his commitment to Maryland.
The 6-foot-7, 300-pound Dutch tackle becomes the sixth offensive lineman in Maryland’s class, joining St. Frances (MD) three-star Andre Roye, Glades Central (FL) three-star Ja’Kavion Nonar, Glades Central (FL) three-star Keon Kindred, Iowa Western three-star Max McCree, and Malvern Prep (PA) three-star center Coltin Deery.
Mujezinovic gives Maryland their fifth offensive tackle in the class as the staff replenishes the depth at the position. The Dutch tackle suited up for the Amsterdam Crusaders during the 2018 season and verbally committed to Temple a class of 2020 prospect but did not sign. Mujezinovic enrolled at Garden City C.C. in the spring of 2021 and played in games against Fort Scott C.C. and Independence C.C., but joins the program with four years of eligibility remaining.
He hails from PPI Recruits, an international recruiting program founded by Brandon Collier that has helped send prospects to Washington, TCU, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Michigan, Ohio State, and Yale among others. Offensive line coach Brian Braswell led the pursuit for Mujezinovic and after taking an official visit to Maryland over the weekend, his commitment ends Maryland’s offensive line pursuit this cycle.
Addressing offensive tackle was a big priority for Maryland in both the 2021 and 2022 cycles, but they’ve addressed the long-term outlook with veteran Jaelyn Duncan and DJ Glaze returning for next season. And one cycle after fixing the defensive line, head coach Mike Locksley and company have done so on the other side of the ball.
“We had a system that we put in when we got here, wasn't my first rodeo being in the Big Ten so I knew it was important to increase our size, strengthen power on the [offensive] line and [defensive] line,” Locksley said back on signing day. “We addressed the [defensive] line last year recruiting. It's not something that you can kind of do in one big recruiting class and so we've had a plan on how we were going to attack it and as you'll see, this year, we're heavy loaded on offensive tackle body types.
Mujezinovic becomes the 21st commitment for Maryland this cycle and is expected to sign during the February signing period.
