Dontay Demus Jr.’s time in Baltimore has come to an end as the former Maryland wide receiver was among the Ravens’ roster cuts on Monday. Demus, an undrafted rookie, is coming off his best performance in preseason where he hauled in a team-high 86 yards on a pair of catches against the Buccaneers. In addition to his pair of catches against Tampa Bay, Demus hauled in an 11-yard catch in the week two loss against Washington. Demus will now look to make the practice squad in Baltimore after battling it out with other wideouts through preseason like Tylan Wallace to make Baltimore’s final roster. With NFL teams continuing cuts into Tuesday’s deadline, UDFA wide receiver Rakim Jarrett continues to hang on in Tampa Bay after the Bucs have waived other wideouts in a heavy competition. The Bucs released Kade Warner, son of Kurk Warner, on Sunday night before waiving UDFA Taye Barber and Kaylon Geiger on Monday morning. Jarrett is coming off a 48 yard and four catch performance against Baltimore as he and Demus finished with team-highs in receiving yards. "He is making a ton of plays," Baker Mayfield said last month. "In one-on-one situations, he has a really good ability to high-point the ball. He has good body control when he is in the air. Those are guys that when you have the one-on-one matchups in third down situations like that, you are going to try and find those guys who you know are going to make contested catches." Meanwhile, Jacob Copeland survived Minnesota’s initial roster cuts while Spencer Anderson’s versatility hasn’t gone unnoticed during preseason with the Steelers. Pittsburgh also traded offensive lineman Kevin Dotson to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, a move that led Anderson to be tabbed as the biggest winner. “Spencer Anderson I do believe is a roster lock from here on out. I just think there’s so much versatility there,” Noah Strackbein said on Monday. Related Links
