Decision day has arrived for Cy Falls (TX) offensive lineman Samir Camacho with Duke, Maryland and UTSA hoping for good news tonight. Camacho, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound swing guard, will announce his commitment tonight at 8:30 PM EST after officially visiting all three of his top schools. Camacho kicked off his official visits with a trip to Maryland with safeties coach Zac Spavital leading the charge and Jordan Phillips showing the three-star lineman around campus during his visit. “I felt at home. it was an outstanding visit, the hospitality,” Camacho told IBG. “It’s a family-based team. something that stood out to me was coach Locks, the staff and everybody there is building a championship team. I hope to be a part of it in the future and I haven’t decided on schools, but Maryland is definitely top one right now.” Camacho then made his way to Duke the weekend of June 16 before wrapping up at UTSA beginning June 22, while Cal was heavily involved and was previously set to host Camacho for an official visit. TCU was another who came into the picture after extending a camp offer to Camacho, who boasts an 81-inch wingspan. Kansas was also involved with Camacho as he debated a visit between the Jayhawks and Blue Devils, while Texas A&M was among the schools looking to bring him onto campus. Maryland will look for good news as the offensive line has been a top priority through the summer, and its evident in the current 2024 class. Led by Ryan Howerton and Terez Davis, Maryland already has six offensive linemen in the fold to replenish a veteran unit following the 2023 season. Maryland currently sits at 18 commitments in the 2024 cycle and the nation’s 46th-best recruiting class, according to On3. Camacho is not yet rated by On3 but is rated a three-star and an 85 overall by 247Sports. Related Links
