After picking up another commitment in the trenches this week, head coach Mike Locksley and his staff enter Saturday with 19 commitments in the 2025 class, but they'll look to add to it on Saturday evening when three-star defensive lineman Christian Hudson and four-star defensive lineman Bryce Jenkins announce their commitments. Friendship Collegiate (DC) four-star Bryce Jenkins is up first as he told IBG on Saturday morning that he now plans to announce his decision at 3 PM. Jenkins, a 6-foot-4.5 lineman, will announce among a final group with Maryland, Tennessee, South Carolina and Rutgers in the final group as the Terps look to keep the longtime local target close to home. Co-defensive coordinator Brian Williams led the way with the trench target into the offseason before Aazaar Abdul-Rahim joined the program, giving him a chance to run point in the recruitment of a target now shining at the program that Abdul-Rahim once built before making the jump to college. While some view Jenkins as better suited for the offensive line at the next level, the local four-star is viewed as a defensive line recruit where he was able to sit in defensive line position meetings during his official visit to College Park beginning June 13. “I feel like it gave me an idea of how I fit in and coach Williams, coach Locksley, coach Abdul-Rahim, they’re saying I fit in perfectly with what they run,” he told IBG. Hudson, a 6-foot interior lineman, is next up with his decision expected to be announced at 5:55 PM. Hudson previously unofficially visited Maryland before making the trip north for his official visit beginning June 13 with a focus on restocking the defensive line this cycle. While assistant James Thomas leads the way with the top Florida target, his official visit alongside player host, Jordan Phillips, gave him a closer feel of what to expect in College Park. “A lot of new different things this time around. I noticed that most of the staff was African-American, which really showed the diversity and their true color which I really like in the football program because you don’t see that too many places,” Hudson told IBG. “They made me feel like a priority from the first step on campus and just being around them.” A Big Ten battle was brewing for Hudson with the Terps entrenched in his top group as they inched closer to pole position, but in-state UCF is a school to watch down the stretch. Bryce Jenkins is rated a four-star prospect and a 91, checking in as the third-best prospect in DC. Hudson is not yet rated by On3, but is a composite three-star recruit.
