Dan Enos to Become Coordinator at SEC Foe

Maryland now has another vacancy to fill on the staff. Offensive coordinator Dan Enos is expected to become the offensive coordinator at Arkansas, replacing Kendal Briles who left for TCU. The move would end Enos’s two year stint with Maryland, who replaced Scottie Montgomery following head coach Mike Locksley’s second season. The news comes on the same day that quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa announced his return to Maryland for his fourth season. The move to Arkansas would be a familiar sight as Enos served as the offensive coordinator for the Razorbacks for three seasons beginning 2015, overlapping with current head coach Sam Pittman for one season. Maryland, meanwhile, would be left replacing another staffer after Mike Miller left to become the offensive coordinator at Charlotte and Wes Neighbors became the safeties coach at Ole Miss. Under Enos, Maryland’s offense set numerous school records. During his first season with the program, Maryland set records for total yards (5,740), passing yards (3,960), completions (339) and completion percentage (69.3%) in 2021. Enos then coached Tagovailoa in 2022 to bolster the veteran quarterback’s resume in College Park. Tagovailoa threw for 3,008 yards, completing 262-of-391 passes and 18 touchdowns, while rushing for four more. He is one of only two FBS quarterbacks that played in 2022 to own their school’s career passing yards record despite playing three years or less (Will Rogers, Mississippi State).
