Breaking: DL Cam Brickle flips commitment from Ohio State to Maryland

The next big fish in Maryland football’s 2026 class is in after IMG Academy (FL) four-star DL Cam Brickle has flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Maryland.

Brickle, a 6-foot-3, 305-pound defensive lineman, is fresh off his second visit of the fall to Maryland after making the trip for the Michigan game on Nov. 22. Brickle also visited for the Nebraska game earlier this season after officially visiting back in mid-June.

IBG reported for subscribers that Maryland was well-positioned for the Big Ten flip with the Pa. native in the fold.

“Just the overall how I can get better on and off the field, getting better each season and how we get to the development aspect. How we critique things, how we’ll fix things, so we talked about how I can improve as a player,” Brickle previously told IBG. “They were talking about where I’d fit in if I go come here, and based off the potential, what type of role I can have.”

Brickle was hosted by DL Eyan Thomas during his official visit back in June and was spotted with Jesse Moody, an offensive tackle commit out of Imhotep (Pa.), during his gameday visit on Saturday with assistant James Thomas leading the way.

Brickle initially committed to Ohio State over Maryland while Florida State and Penn State were involved, but the Pa. native maintained communication with the staff throughout the process.

The new Maryland pledge becomes the first interior defensive lineman this cycle with edge rushers Zion Elee and Jianni Davis in the fold. Brickle is expected to enroll in January.
