ATH Levi Babin becomes first '27 commit for Maryland football

Maryland has added his first 2027 commit after Episcopal (VA) three-star athlete Levi Babin announced his pledge, roughly one month after visiting campus.

Babin becomes the first commitment out of Episcopal since at least 2000 after years of working to break into the school that produced others like former NFL running back Tim Hightower and Wake Forest DL Luiji Vilain among several Power Four prospects through the years.

Babin, a 6-foot, 185-pound athlete, made his way to College Park for the Towson game last month with assistant Aazaar Abdul-Rahim leading the way with the early defensive back target after offering back in July. Maryland also checked on the three-star during the bye week with the Terps able to end his recruitment early.

Penn State, Rutgers and West Virginia are among the others who have offered through his junior season, but the Terps tap back into Virginia where they’ll once again look to make it a priority through the 2027 cycle.

As a sophomore, Babin posted 30 tackles and a pair of tackles for loss while adding nine PBUs. Babin also lined up at running back wehre he posted 474 yards and five touchdown on 73 attempts, though fits on the defensive side of the ball for Maryland.
