Andre Mills becomes latest former Aggie to follow Buzz Williams, transfer to Maryland men's basketball

Another portal target has announced his decision to follow Buzz Williams to Maryland after former Texas A&M guard Andre Mills went public with his transfer into the program.

Mills entered the transfer portal back on April 4 with a 'Do Not Contact' tag, one of four Aggies to do so, where he now reunites with former Aggies Pharrel Payne and Solomon Washington in College Park.

Mills, ranked a top-150 prospect by both On3 and 247, redshirted in his lone season with Texas A&M and joins the program with four years of eligibility remaining. The freshman was projected to play a major role in the Aggies’ backcourt next season with both Wade Taylor IV and Zhuric Phelps graduated

As a junior at Brimmer and May School (VT), Mills was named to the 2022-2023 All-NEPSAC Class AA Team after averaging 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists as a junior. He followed it up his senior season after being named the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council after averaging 30 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Mills will now team up with Indiana transfer Myles Rice while Chance Stephens became the last holdover to depart ahead of year one under Buzz Williams, though the Massachusetts native now gives the Terps a long-term answer in the backcourt.

“Andre Mills is a home run addition to our roster,” former Texas A&M assistant coach Lyle Wolf said in a press release after Mills signed with the Aggies. “He's a pass, dribble, and shoot SEC guard that brings a level of toughness that matches the personality of our program.”
