After two staff visits, Maryland football squarely in the mix for Ga. QB Brodie Campbell

Maryland got a chance to take a look at several quarterbacks across the 2027 class once Clint Trickett was announced as the new offensive coordinator in mid-February, but they’ve made a big push for one Georgia quarterback with plans finalized for his first visit to College Park.

Newnan (Ga.) three-star quarterback Brodie Campbell is set to close out his official visit schedule with a trip to Maryland beginning June 19 after getting a chance to see the staff twice this month. After general manager Merci Falaise and offensive coordinator Clint Trickett made the trip to his school the second week of May to extend the offer, Trickett went in-home with Campbell last Wednesday, May 13 to finalize visit plans.

“I really like the culture they have and the offense coach Trickett runs is awesome. He has been down twice and is doing a great job recruiting,” Campbell told IBG. “The offense, I feel like it fits me. What he does with throwing the ball around and making plays. And then the culture, they are hungry for winners and I love that.”

Maryland’s quick surge for the 6-foot-3, 190 pound quarterback came at the right time as Campbell inched closer towards narrowing his list. That materialized days after his latest Big Ten offer with Maryland rounding out his top four alongside Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Iowa State.

All three schools are set to host Campbell for official visits with Georgia Tech up first beginning May 29, Arkansas beginning June 5, Iowa State beginning June 12 before closing out his month at Maryland ahead of his decision.

As a junior, Campbell threw for over 2,600 yards and a school-record 26 touchdowns while also committing to Georgia for baseball as he explores the football side of his recruitment.
