After suffering a season-opening loss to Georgetown Prep, Loyola Blakefield bounced back on the road last Friday by holding off an experienced Gonzaga team for a 35-29 win. Loyola won’t have to travel far for their next game with a matchup set against MSJ on Friday afternoon, and they’re led with confidence as 2025 quarterback Brad Seiss leads the offense. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback put on 20 pounds over the last year with strength and conditioning a focus for Seiss, but it’s his development and attention to his craft that’s led to his biggest development through the offseason. https://twitter.com/BradleySeiss/status/1620602311017107457 “I feel like just going through my reads, trusting the coaching. From sophomore to junior year, just seeing the bigger picture of things. Just sort of maturing in that aspect of the game, that’s what I feel like I’ve gotten better at,” Seiss said. The local junior has also made a name for himself on the baseball diamond with a fastball in the mid-80s, giving credence to his arm strength. Accuracy was a focus for him this offseason as he emphasized the details of his mechanics. “Throwing on the run, especially to my left side. Just being able to turn my shoulders and make an accurate ball. That’s hard going to your opposite side but that’s definitely something where I had been inaccurate on,” Seiss added. That’s where Quarterback Factory comes in with Seiss making it into the complex located in Gambrills once per week through the offseason. “I was at Quarterback Factory like every week then we had offseason workouts, then some player-run practices then some mandatory team workouts. Just a mix of everything really,” he added. Learn more about QB Factory here! “I would say they really helped my footwork. I feel like my arm was always there, I’ve got a powerful arm, but they really honed in on my footwork and understanding the rhythm and understanding how to move around the pocket. They’ve helped me in that aspect of the game.” Seiss, who has a 4.2 GPA with his junior year now underway, knows what he wants to put on film as a junior. “I just want to put on film me airing the ball out, just playing good football and playing some crazy plays. Overall I’m not worried about the recruiting process right now. I just want to have a successful season with my guys. We’ve worked so hard for this season.”
