'23 Philly Defensive End Looking to Return to Campus

It was back on May 14th when the Terps offered Kion Wright, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound defensive end out of Northeast (PA). Since then, offers have flown in for the fast-rising edge rusher as West Virginia, Boston College, Temple, and Colorado have all jumped into the mix. Wright took advantage of college campuses reopening last month to visit the nearby school, making it his first unofficial to campus and one that was highlighted by the new facilities.

“Probably one of the best [facilities]. They had a beautiful facility that was one of the biggest things I took from that visit” Wright told Inside The Black and Gold. Wright also took in visits to Temple, Penn State, and West Virginia while he’s uncertain where else he will visit this summer.

Running backs coach Elijah Brooks is the primary recruiter for the Philly prospect. “I am still trying to get familiar with them. I had a few conversations with Coach Brooks. I talk to him the most.”

The most important factor to Wright in evaluating a school is straightforward. “How they develop their players,” he added. This fall, Wright will start opposite of Penn State verbal Ken Talley as the rising junior is in line for a breakout season.

As far as the Terps, Wright is looking ahead to returning to campus with visits now open for the fall season.

“[I would] like to return if they want me too”.
