2025 Brunswick QB Ethan Houck talks offseason progress, summer schedule

2025 Brunswick (MD) quarterback Ethan Houck grew up playing baseball, but the 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect made the switch to track this spring where he’s gotten a chance to improve his speed as he showcases himself as a dependable dual-threat quarterback. Houck, who runs a 11.46 in the 100 meter, has also made the weight room a priority as he looks to add mass heading into his junior season, but his consistent training at QB Factory every week has helped Houck add to his toolbox this offseason. “Offseason has been pretty good. All I’ve been doing is working out every Sunday at QB Factory. I’ve been lifting pretty much every day. I take usually one off day, just trying to get bigger and increase my size,” Houck said. Learn more about QB Factory & upcoming trainings here  Since he began training at QB Factory heading into eighth grade, Houck has watched his game gradually improve as he’s gained comfort as the starter. “They’ve really developed me well. They’ve really skyrocketed me. They’ve definitely helped me get to where I’m at today. I think just staying comfortable, just being confident in myself based on the training I get there. Mainly, off that, I can get better confidence which helps me in my game. While Houck looks ahead to building his relationships with his teammates heading into a pivotal season, he’s also drawn college interest with a pair of Power Five schools watching him workout. “I have Wake Forest, Maryland on June 19. I just talked to coach Brewer. Wake Forest has shown pretty big interest so far. They came up to the school, watched me throw. They want me to come to camp first.” Houck knows what he hopes to show college coaches when he puts his junior film together later this fall. “I think I’ve got pretty good combine times. I can show off my speed, I can show off my arm. I really try to show off my game IQ, what I can see on the field and what I can see in the defense and my reads,” he added. “A quarterback that can run, dual-threat. A quarterback that has a great arm, fast decision-making, can anticipate throws and just knows the game very well. I want to be able to show obviously my arm as well.” Houck threw for 1,313 yards and 18 touchdowns on 109-for-193 passing as he led Brunswick to a 9-4  record.
