Young Terps: Maryland picks up signature win vs. Illinois, season turnaround?

Welcome back to the Young Terps postgame show where we dive into the signature win for Maryland men’s basketball after picking up a 76-67 road win against 10th-ranked Illinois.

48 combined points from Jahmir Young and Julian Reese lifted the Terps in Champaign, enough to help Maryland pick up its first conference road win of the season.

“If they’re going to play Coleman Hawkins at the five spot, then we were just going to just go inside and just kind of keep pounding and pounding, even if [Julian Reese], I mean, Ju goes 8-for-16, he gets 20 [points] and 11 [rebounds] but even if on his missed shots, we were making him defend. We were hitting them, we were pounding them. That wears you out, dealing with a guy like Ju if you’re not really used to it,” head coach Kevin Willard said postgame.

We dive into the:

-monster game from Julian Reese, Jahmir Young
-supporting cast steps up on the road
-dominance in the paint
-a chance to change Maryland’s postseason outlook?
