Young Terps: Maryland dominates Auburn in Music City Bowl

Welcome back to the Young Terps postgame show as we break down Maryland’s dominating win over Auburn in the Music City Bowl, 31-13.

QB Billy Edwards was first to take snaps under center on Saturday, but he wasn’t the only quarterback that shined in the win as QB Cam Edge finished 4-of-5 for 82 yards, including a 57-yard deep ball to Kaden Prather on his first play from scrimmage. Maryland jumped out to an early 21-0 lead as we shared our reactions to the fast start.

Maryland’s defense also stepped up in the win after holding Auburn to under 100 rushing yards, while QB Payton Thorne finished the day with under 100 passing yards. While the offense struggled in the second half, what stuck out about the defense? Maryland was able to come away with four turnovers in the win with safeties Lavain Scruggs and Glen Miller reeling in an interception each, but was Perry Fisher the breakout player from Nashville?

We close the show out by looking ahead to the 2024 season with now an intriguing quarterback battle along with impact portal additions set to fill key roles in the two-deep next fall. Is there an early strength on defense? Plus, we highlight a handful of marquee Terps who played their final game on Saturday.
