Young Terps: bowl destination announced, portal season picks up, basketball folds in B1G opener

On the latest episode of Young Terps, we dive into all the latest news surrounding Maryland football, basketball and recruiting.

We kick things off with…the transfer portal. There’s no sidestepping it–it’s been a tough 48 hours for Maryland football after watching both TE Corey Dyches and LB Jaishawn Barham lead the group of departing Terps with the transfer portal set to officially open on December 4. What’s driving the transfers? Are there tangible signs of optimism for fans to hang their hat on? We dive into the latest heading into Monday, plus a new portal target with set plans to visit.

We switch over to football, where head coach Mike Locksley and the Terps caught a break after the results from conference championships vaulted the program from Las Vegas to Nashville, where the Terps are set to face Auburn in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl on December 30.

We transition over to basketball, where head coach Kevin Willard and the Terps folded on the road in their Big Ten opener as Indiana pulled out a dominant 65-53 win. After winning three straight at home, the Terps showed no signs of positive success as the Hoosiers jumped out to an early 8-2 lead and never looked back. What’s wrong with Maryland basketball? Is any of it fixable?

We wrap up the show with a segment of Inside the Bag, where we dive into Maryland’s remaining high school targets down the stretch.
