Maryland moved to 4-1 (1-1) following a 27-13 win over Michigan State with a heavy dose of local talent on campus.
Oakdale (MD) four-star defensive end Dominic Nichols and Pallotti (MD) four-star linebacker Gabriel Williams were among those in attendance and able to connect with the coaching staff ahead of watching Maryland’s win on Saturday afternoon. Churchill wide receiver Ezekiel Avit, meanwhile, visited for his third game of the season before announcing his commitment following the game.
“They’ve been really persistent and coach [Gunter] Brewer sees a big player in me and he’s given me hope in football,” Avit said about his decision. “The second he saw me, he was excited and he told me I have a future in football and he can get me where I want to be, so I trust him a lot.”
