Pair of linemen set official visits, two more set to camp on Saturday

Camp season is now in full swing with a busy day in College Park set for this Saturday. With teams like Good Counsel and Flowers in attendance as the staff will work on hosting key players for tours in between games, Maryland will also welcome a handful of offensive line targets to campus as offensive line coach Brian Braswell gets to work through his first Big Man camp of the month with names the staff has tracked through the spring into summer.

Central Dauphin (PA) offensive tackle Anthony Robsock, a 6-foot-6 tells IBG he will camp on Saturday, nearly one month after visiting Maryland for the spring game. Metrolina Christian Academy (NC) offensive tackle Peyton Reeder will also camp at Maryland on Saturday as the staff has kept tabs on him dating back to January when he unofficially visited. “The coaching staff definitely. The facilities are top notch but the staff is what stood out to me. The coaching staff and how well we mixed.” Reeder told IBG “[He’s] an honest guy who always knows exactly what he’s talking about.” Reeder had to cut his visit short and will head to Coastal Carolina, but an underclassman local stayed for the full day.

William Penn (PA) offensive tackle Michael McMonigle will also camp at Maryland on Saturday, but it will be the first of two trips to Maryland in June as McMonigle is also expected to return to campus for an official visit the weekend of June 16. McMonigle also visited campus for the spring game as offensive line coach Brian Braswell has led the way as position recruiter while wide receiver coach Gunter Brewer has taken over as area recruiter. Iowa State and Syracuse are the other Power Five offers for the 6-foot-6 tackle as the staff will get a closer look at him this weekend.

Maryland’s second big man camp is set for June 23 and Mallard Creek (NC) offensive tackle Umar Rockhead will be among the prospects in attendance. Meanwhile, this upcoming weekend was expected to be a light visit weekend with Flowers (MD) three-star offensive tackle Mike Williams the only one originally expected to visit, but I’m hearing that’s been rescheduled as the former Gamecock verbal will head to Florida next weekend then Michigan State, leaving the weekend of June 23 as a possibility for him to return to campus once more.

Another offensive lineman IBG has confirmed with officially visit Maryland later this month is Ashbrook (NC) offensive tackle Trent Mitchell, who will head to campus the weekend of June 23. Offensive line coach Brian Braswell made his way down to the Carolinas to watch the 6-foot-6, 290-pound lineman in practice as Mitchell is set to visit ECU, Rutgers and NC State before making his way to College Park.
