Maryland is fanned out across the East coast as they put the finishing touches on its 2024 class and look to add to their 20-man class. That also includes making sure all 20 are firmly in the fold as the staff saw two more verbals in recent days.
Cedar Grove (GA) three-star cornerback Lakhi Roland saw assistant Henry Baker and defensive coordinator Brian Williams make the trek to see him last Thursday for an in-home visit. “It’s great, just keep building the relationship with them mostly. I’m locked in.”
Roland added that Louisville has remained in contact through the fall, while Pitt went in-home with the 6-foot-1 cornerback this week. Roland, though, doesn’t have any plans to see any other schools and plans to sign with Maryland during next Wednesday’s signing day ceremony.
“I just have a great relationship with coach Baker. And when I went up there on my official they were showing me love so I never forgot that.”
Maryland was also in to see King George (VA) three-star wide receiver Mekhai White on Tuesday night for his second in-home this month as the staff looks to lock down the versatile wideout. Virginia and Arkansas are among the newest schools showing interest in the 6-foot-3 wideout, but hours after confirming no plans to see additional schools, White officially shut down the remainder of his recruitment and is set to enroll in January.
“Locked in! Recruitment officially 100% shutdown!!,” White posted on X/Twitter.
Both Roland and White are rated three-star prospects by On3, with Roland drawing an 86 overall and White an 88 overall.
