Several rookies shine while the vets get back into the swing of things with the season approaching. Breaking down how former Terps fared this week in preseason.
- Chiefs LB Jermaine Carter: Finished with four tackles, three being for a loss, in the Chiefs’ 24-14 win over the Commanders. He was tied for second on the team in tackles.
- Chiefs RB Tayon Fleet-Davis: Had five carries for five yards and a touchdown for the Chiefs. His touchdown came on sort of a broken play, where he and quarterback Dustin Crum ran into each other.
- Colts DE Byron Cowart: Finished with one tackle in the Colts’ 27-26 loss to the Detriot Lions.
- Colts SAF Nick Cross: Finished with two tackles, both solo, and a pass defended for the Colts. Cross has had a great training camp so far and could be a major in the Colts defense this year.
- Colts DE Yannick Ngakoue: The Colts again rested their starters last week and Ngakoue didn’t see the field.
- Bills WR Stefon Diggs: Diggs was targeted twice, catching both passes for 33 yards in the Bills’ 42-15 win over the Broncos. Diggs, along with the rest of the Bills starters, was pulled after one series.

- Jets RB Ty Johnson: Finished with three carries for eight yards and one catch for three yards in the Jets’ 24-16 win over the Falcons. This was Johnson’s first game played in the preseason after missing last week with an injury.
