The dead period ends on Wednesday and the list of visitors just got bigger.
In addition to a crew from Clearwater (FL) and Archbishop Spalding (MD) linebacker Keyshawn Flowers, a large group from a local powerhouse will also visit Maryland on Wednesday.
In addition to Good Counsel four-star linebacker Aaron Chiles, four-star running back Dilin Jones, three-star wide receiver Elijah Moore and three-star defensive end Darien Mayo will all visit campus per source. Maryland has and will continue to focus on bringing local prospects on campus for more one-on-one visits, but it’s no surprise the staff is hitting the WCAC powerhouse hard this cycle.
All mentioned targets out of Olney, Maryland sit as top targets for their respective position groups. Jones also visited campus back in January for a basketball game alongside 2025 four-star safety Faheem Delane, while the staff is entrenched in a top group littered with heavy hitters for Chiles. Maryland has emerged as an early contender for Elijah Moore with both James Thomas and Gunter Brewer leading the charge, while Kaden Prather’s presence in College Park bolsters the Terps’ chances. Mayo, meanwhile, has long sit high on the board as the staff kept close eyes on him dating back to last summer.
It won’t just be the WCAC schools who will have a presence on campus, though. Flowers (MD) three-star offensive tackle Mike Williams will also visit campus. Williams was an early candidate to become the first local commitment in the 2024 class when he was at Rock Creek (MD), but after transferring to St. Frances (MD) then Flowers, Maryland has more competition to battle against. South Carolina, who signed Desmond Umeozulu one cycle ago, is a school high on Williams’s list while Miami has emerged as a player, but the Terps have a chance to break the trend from the 4A runner-ups with the prime local target.
Williams is rated a three-star prospect and an 84 overall by On3.
