Maryland verbal returning to campus this week, sets official visit

Maryland picked up its fifth commitment of the 2025 cycle when Bel Air (MD) safety Julien Horton pulled the trigger on his pledge after an in-depth discussion with lead recruiter Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, giving the Terps more juice on the trail. While Horton will head to campus on Monday to make his commitment official, another verbal will head to campus this week when Miami Edison (Fl) three-star cornerback Jett White returns to College Park.

White, a 6-foot-1.5, 165-pound cornerback, will arrive on campus on Friday and will also visit for Saturday’s practice as he makes his first trip to campus since the fall of 2022 with his dad, uncle and cousin in town.

Head coach Mike Locksley has built a strong rapport with White and his father, while the Florida cornerback has been steadily building his relationship with position coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim.

“It’s pretty strong. He’s been good about calling me, checking up on me the last few weeks and getting to know each other more,” White told IBG. “I’ve built a good relationship with a lot of them.”

While the two-day visit will give White a chance to reconnect with the staff further as the Terps kick off the first days of spring ball, but White will keep an eye on how the Terps fare on the field. “I want to see their work ethic in practice,” he added.

That won’t be his only trip to campus as White is set to officially visit Maryland the first weekend of June for a more in-depth visit to campus. White took an unofficial visit to UNLV on Saturday and does not have a full official visit schedule locked in yet.

Jett White is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3, sitting as the 84th-best prospect in Florida.
