Maryland, Morgan State partner for first-ever ‘Baltimore Day’ in April

Maryland is set to begin spring ball on Tuesday in College Park, but they’ll hit the road next month for practice sessions with Morgan State on Saturday, April 6. The event makes the first-ever “Baltimore Day,” an opportunity for fans to watch both teams before interacting with the players and coaches after.

The two teams will not run a joint practice, though, with Morgan State set to practice at 11 AM then Maryland taking the field at 2 PM shortly after. Despite both teams practicing at separate times on the same field, both teams and head coaches will be interacting with fans after their practice sessions conclude, per release.

“I appreciate Coach Wilson and Morgan State for partnering with us for Baltimore Day,” Locksley added via release. “The Baltimore community means so much to both Maryland and Morgan so we’re thrilled to come together for this. We have so many loyal alumni and fans in the Baltimore area so to be able to provide an easy way for them to get out and watch us practice is important. I know both programs are excited to hit the field and then also have a chance to interact with the fans after practice on what will be a very exciting day.”

“I’m really excited to have Coach Locksley and the Terps on campus,” Morgan State head coach Damon Wilson added via release. “This is a great opportunity to bring two programs together for spring practice. It will provide an opportunity for the community to see two college programs practice at Morgan State University. We are building a lot on campus and this provides another opportunity to showcase our beautiful campus and football program. I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a day of college football at Hughes Stadium.”
