Maryland men’s, women’s basketball announce new uniforms for 2023-24 season

One day ahead of Maryland football’s debut of its Black Script Terps against Virginia, Maryland men’s and women’s basketball have announced new uniforms for the 2023-24 season.

Maryland basketball was expected to receive new uniforms for the upcoming season, an expectation that was brewing when Maryland football announced the return of Script Terps for the 2023 season. More via release:

The Maryland men’s and women’s basketball teams officially unveiled their new uniforms for the upcoming 2023-24 season today. Both teams will be outfitted in new Under Armour uniforms for each of Maryland’s primary colors: white, red, black, and gold.

The design of the uniform incorporates a blend of nostalgic elements that will excite all die-hard Terp fans, while also adding new, modern elements.

All four uniforms feature the arch Maryland work mark on the chest and a prominent Under Armour logo at the neckline. This placement will allow Maryland to utilize other special patches on the uniform such as the Graduate patch which was recently announced.

The white and red uniforms incorporate black and gold trim along the sides and arms of the uniforms, while alternating red and white on each opposite colored set. Additionally, the shorts carry that look around the waist, down the side and around the bottom.

The black and gold uniforms add a touch of flair with the Maryland flag along the bottom of the shorts with the M-Bar logo on the sides. The tops are trimmed with a solid color stripe, while the front waistline of the shorts also carries the primary logo.

Versions of the uniforms will be on sale in late October. Season tickets for the 2023-24 men’s and women’s basketball seasons are currently on sale now and can be purchased online at www.UMTerps.com, by calling the Terrapin Ticket Office at 800-462-TERP, or by emailing for more information at terptix@umd.edu.

While Maryland basketball hasn’t announced its official 2023-24 schedule yet, Kevin Willard will begin his second season as head coach when the Terps take the court on November 7 against Mount St. Mary’s. Maryland returns a veteran trio in Jahmir Young, Donta Scott and Julian Reese with freshmen Deshawn Harris-Smith and Jamie Kaiser expected to fill impact roles at the two and three.

While head coach Brenda Frese is tasked with replacing Diamond Miller, Maryland also returns Shyanne Sellers, Faith Masonius, Lavender Briggs and Brinae Alexander from last year’s Sweet 16 team. Maryland also welcomes the eleventh-best class in the country, according to ESPN, headlined by five-star Riley Nelson and and top-50 prospect Amiyah Reynolds.
