Local WR gets extended look at Maryland, feels at home on latest visit

2025 Flowers (MD) wide receiver Aaron Lewis is getting adjusted at Flowers after transferring from Rock Creek this offseason, but he’s already been able to enjoy a strong connection with his new teammates. That includes Lloyd Irvin, a Maryland commit, as the two returned to campus over the weekend for the Charlotte game.

“The offense looked great. The team started out slow but after the second half, I don’t know what coach [Mike] Locksley said to him, they just came out firing in the second half,” Lewis told IBG. “The offense was looking good, drives were looking good.

Lewis also watched Kaden Prather, a former four-star out of Northwest, finish with a team-high 80 receiving yards and one touchdown one four catches. “KP, I’ve actually been looking at him when he was at high school and I was in my middle school,” Lewis added.

The projected three-star was also able to sit down with receivers coach Gunter Brewer on the visit. “It feels great. He invited me to the next game this Friday so I might come out after my game. I’ll feel it out with the time.”

Lewis said this Friday’s game against Laurel is set for 3 PM, so it’ll be a quick turnaround for Lewis if he opts to return to campus, but this weekend’s visit was productive for Maryland. In fact, it wasn’t just the Charlotte game that the 6-foot-1 receiver was in College Park for as Lewis and Irvin stayed through Saturday night where they were able to get to know the current players.

“We were just hanging out, hanging with some players from the team. I love it up there. It feels like home because it is home,” Lewis said. “That gives me a way different experience. It just helps make it feel like home, like I can be here for the next three or four years.”

Lewis is not yet rated by On3.
