Introducing Myself: Ben Reitman

Hello!

My name is Ben Reitman, and I am super excited to be joining Inside the Black and Gold for the spring semester. Originally from Atlanta, I am a senior at Maryland and will be graduating in the Spring from the Phillip Merrill College of Journalism with a minor in Law and Society.

I have been involved in covering Maryland athletics for the better part of my college career. I have been the Co-Station Director of WMUC Sports (Maryland’s Student-run radio station) since June of 2022. I have been broadcasting Maryland football as well as Men’s and Women’s Basketball for the better part of three years. I traveled to Birmingham last year to cover Maryland’s March Madness run and went to Charlotte and Nashville for Maryland’s last two bowl games.

I also have been heavily involved in the Maryland Baseball Network for the last three years, as well. I went to Maryland’s Regional last year in Winston-Salem.

This spring, I will primarily be writing about Maryland Baseball as the Dirty Terps look for their third consecutive Big Ten Championship. Maryland lifer Matt Swope will be taking the reigns in what should be a fascinating season at The Bob, and we’ll have coverage beginning with next week’s media day.
