Four-star staying active with recruiting through playoff run

North Hills (PA) rallied in the second half to defeat Fox Chapel in a 67-62 win in the 5A quarterfinals on Wednesday night, setting the stage for Saturday. Four-star forward Royce Parham finished with 25 points in the win as the versatile forward once again showed himself as threat inside and out.

One day after his playoff game, Parham will head to Penn State when they host Rutgers. “I haven’t been up there in a while so going to check them out,” he told IBG. Parham hasn’t made recruiting a priority focus with his own season heating up, but it hasn’t been on the back burner either and he’s made a pair of recent visits.

Parham made it to Maryland last month for the win versus Ohio State and assistant Tony Skinn has continued to lead the charge for the Team Durant product. “Things have been going well. He still checks in with me, keeping up with my season.” With a pair of visits to Maryland in the books, Parham has a good grasp of the program. “I know what they’re about. I know how I fit and familiar with the area.” Parham could opt to take another unofficial in the future, and while there’s no return visit planned, could the four-star take an official to Maryland? “It’s a possibility.”

Two weeks later, Parham made the trip out to Marquette with head coach Shaka Smart and former Maryland assistant Deandre Haynes leading the way. Marquette was in last week to watch Parham, while Pitt was in to watch the 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward last night. Where could Parham visit next?

“I know I want to get to Xavier. I don’t know if it’ll be an official or unofficial, but I know I want to go check them out [in the spring].”

Parham is rated a four-star prospect and a 94 overall by On3.
