Four-Star Guard Jamie Kaiser Has Top Three, Commitment Date

Four-star guard Jamie Kaiser has announced his top three with a decision set for Sunday afternoon.

Indiana, Maryland and Virginia are the three finalists for the top-50 prospect after wrapping up his visits.

The 6-foot-6 guard picked up an offer from Maryland back on May 16 before taking a one-day official visit to Maryland on June 8 with assistant David Cox leading the way. Kaiser’s trip to Maryland came roughly one week after an official visit to Virginia on June 2, but Kaiser’s familiarity with Maryland and longtime relationship with Cox positioned the Terps as a prominent contender in his recruitment.

“We watched a lot of film of Kevin Willard’s play style, how I’d fit into their game and just some things that they liked about me that they think I can do that can help them right away.” He left the visit with no questions about why the Terps’ staff wants him.

“I went in there not knowing how I’d feel about it just because basketball is different than football, I didn’t know how high I’d be on their board but after yesterday, they’re definitely up there and I didn’t expect it to happen, to be honest. But when they said they needed me and that they really wanted to bring the homegrown talent here and they couldn’t succeed without me, I got really excited. I really like them up there.”

Kaiser took his official visit to Indiana last week where the Hoosiers have prioritized the fast-rising guard through the summer. Kaiser and his dad returned to Maryland on Thursday for a visit with the entire staff by his side while Auburn, Oregon, UCLA and West Virginia are among the schools that were working to get into the mix. With the recruiting process extending to his junior year as a former football prospect, it’s officially decision time for the four-star prospect.

Kaiser is rated a four-star guard and a 95 overall by On3, sitting as the 37th-best prospect in the country.
