Former Terps in the NFL: Week Three

In week three of the NFL season, once again, Stefon Diggs had a good game for the Bills. Quinton Jefferson and Yannick Ngakoue both also recorded their first sack on the season.

While Diggs didn’t score a touchdown or have more than 10 catches like he has the past two weeks, he still finished the day with seven receptions for 74 yards. Another former Terps that had a decline in week two on the offensive side of the ball was DJ Moore. Moore finished the day with just one reception for two yards even though he was targeted six times. But Moore did also get two rushes for 13 yards as well.

On the defensive side of the ball. Both Jefferson and Ngakoue finished with two tackles as well as a sack. Both Darnell Savage and Josh Woods finished with a tackle but Savage also added a fumble recovery for two yards as well. JC Jackson in just his second game back finished with six tackles. Jackson has had six tackles in both his games played this season. Nick Cross did not record a tackle or pass break up this week but still helped lead the Colts to an upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

There are plenty of other former Terps that have gotten playing time on Special Teams and just not the offensive or defensive side of the ball such as Jake Funk, Jared Bernhardt, Ty Johnson, and Chig Okonkwo. Hopefully within the next few weeks they will star to get involved in their offenses.

This weeks Pro Terps of the week will once again be Stefon Diggs. For the third week this season, even in the blistering heat and humidity of Miami, the former Terp had a strong day with seven receptions for 74 yards. While the Bills did not get the win Diggs helped them be just a few seconds away from getting a chance to try for a game winning field goal. Next week Diggs faces a battered up Ravens secondary that ranks towards the bottom of the league in passing defense so look out for another big day from him.
