Century (MD) QB Ray Poulton progressing heading into senior season

2024 Century (MD) quarterback Ray Poulton has noticed the steady development as he’s progressed through his high school career.

A big reason that the 5-foot-11, 155-pound quarterback has noticed those strides is tied to his consistent training at QB Factory.

“I train with them every Sunday,” Poulton said. “I’ve grown a ton. My mechanics have developed so much from sophomore season to now. Even last season going into this season, they’ve really cleaned up a lot especially with the help of Chris Baucia and Luke Casey from QB Factory. Really starting to be relaxed when I throw and getting my hips and core in the throw so it’s a lot less arm. There’s really no pressure on my arm anymore. It’s all fluid.”

After throwing for 638 yards and three touchdowns last season, Poulton has taken it upon himself to step up as the leader where he and his teammates have been able to get extra reps in aside from lifts four days per week. “Me and the receivers have been meeting up every week pretty much to go throw on the field. All the guys who are doing track and stuff are going to be over next week so they can come to the field also.”

Ray Poulton has drawn interest from Shenandoah, St. Vincent and Albright among others heading into his senior season and will make a return trip once to a pair of schools once the summer officially hits.

“I’ve gone back up to Shenandoah, St. Vincent for visits. I’m going to their prospect camps this summer and hopefully going to their games.”

Heading into his senior season, Poulton knows what he wants to show college coaches.

“Just scrambling out the pocket, showing that I can really move around and use my legs. I really want to show them I have really good accuracy with the ball. I have a strong arm. I can run the ball and be quick but I also play with a lot of grit than other players would.”
