For the second consecutive offseason, the offensive line will be a major focus for Maryland this offseason with assistant Brian Braswell set to lose at least three starters heading into the 2024 season. Former Florida State offensive lineman Qae’shon Sapp was among the weekend visitors to make their way to campus as the 6-foot-4, 325-pound lineman made his first trip to College Park.
Getting recruited by Braswell out of high school helped convince Sapp to make his way to College Park, but having former college teammate and current Maryland defensive end Quashon Fuller as his host amplified the vibes through the weekend. “We played together so it was real good seeing him,” Sapp added.
“It was real good. I had enjoyed the culture, the environment being around the coaches. I think it could be a spot for me. They basically just how they think it can be a great fit. They told me they really liked me and that they need [offensive] lineman.” Along with getting one-on-one time with Braswell, Sapp was able to sit down with head coach Mike Locksley as the two were able to connect further. “He’s a great guy. Very cool, calm coach.”
Sapp doesn’t have any set visit plans heading into the week.
Qae’shon Sapp appeared in two games during his two seasons with the ‘Noles, both in limited appearances in non-conference play. Sapp was rated a three-star prospect out of Lee County High School (GA). He has four years to play three.
