’25 IOL Grayson Reid impressed with atmosphere, OL during visit to Maryland

2025 Maret (DC) interior lineman Grayson Reid wrapped up a busy two weeks worth of visits after making his way to College Park on Friday night.

Reid, a 6-foot-3,265-pound lineman, kicked off the month with a trip to Pitt for their season-opening win on Sept. 2, followed by a trip to Duke two days later for their opening upset against Clemson. Reid made his way to Charlottesville on Sept. 9 to watch Virginia lose 36-35 to James Madison at home, before returning to College Park on Friday night for Maryland’s 42-14 win over Virginia.

Reid noted that “every school has their own atmosphere,” but there was something about the Maryland game he took note of.

“I didn’t know the blackout show was going to happen, that was pretty cool. It was a lot of fun,” Reid told IBG. “It was a pretty crazy game. People were jumping up and down, going crazy. The cannon scared me the first couple of times, but it was a lot of fun.”

Reid arrived on campus on Friday afternoon with one of his teammates and spent time around the facility and coaching staff before checking out the Terps pregame. “I got there around I want to say 5 o’clock, did another facility tour, went out to the field, had dinner. Just had a lot of fun then we got to watch them run out. One of my teammates was there and it was his first visit so sharing that experience with him, that was a lot of fun. I was excited, good nerves but just watching the game, having fun. Overall, the atmosphere, that was my first game in College Park so it was a lot of fun.”

During the game, Reid didn’t take note of the Terps’ substitutions along the offensive line but kept a close eye on how they fared against Virginia’s front seven. “I was pointing it out to my dad, and he was start laughing, looking at the zone plays and the combo blocker. Someone had a crazy pancake. That’s the little things I take more naturally, I just gravitate toward watching that, so it was a lot of fun.”

After staying for the entirety on Friday’s game, Reid was able to connect with both his area and position recruiter in the facilities for a quick conversation. “I was able to talk to coach [Brian] Williams and coach [Brian] Braswell. It was late and I was talking to coach Williams, I know he’s going to come to my school. We were just talking about how we’re doing, keeping up with the season. It was brief but it was important.”

With four visits already in the books, Reid isn’t sure if he’ll make many more trips this season with several of Maret’s next games set for Saturday kickoffs. While the interior lineman will take his recruitment into next spring, the pursuit from Maryland coupled with his latest visit has the Terps entrenched among Reid’s top options.

“It’s positive. I’ve stayed in pretty frequent contact with coach Williams and I know after the season, I’ll be in more contact with coach Braswell.”

Grayson Reid is not yet rated by On3.
