’25 Good Counsel DL Delano Brown eyeing return visit to Maryland

Good Counsel (MD) will return to the weight room next week, but local defensive lineman Delano Brown is already working out on his own where he’s looking to build on his 6-foot-4 frame.

“Going into senior year I weighed 265 so I wanted to gain like ten pounds of muscle before the season, so I’m shooting for 275,” he told IBG. The versatile lineman was an integral part of the Falcons’ efforts in the front seven alongside Clemson signee Darien Mayo and with Florida signee Aaron Chiles leading the way. But Brown, who holds early offers from Maryland, Kentucky and Virginia Tech, has watched his recruitment pick up more.

That includes the pursuit from Maryland, one that Brown says has been consistent through the fall. “I’ve been getting a lot of attention from them so I feel pretty good about them. [James Thomas] was up here with I think the [offensive] line coach.”

Maryland has been among the schools keeping tabs on Brown through the fall, and he returned the favor after visiting for the Penn State game back in November. While the Terps struggled with the Nittany Lions, Brown has gotten a chance to familiarize himself with the Terps’ defensive line under Brian Williams. “They move their guys around a lot,” Brown added.

It won’t be long before he makes a return visit to campus.

“When they were down at the school they said they were going to have some guys on campus I think on February 3 so I was planning on going up there.”

Delano Brown is not yet rated by On3.
